What’s in your Yoga bag?

Let’s quickly talk about what one needs in their yoga bag 😊

A well-equipped yoga bag comprises of some essential items in addition to having some accessories and some personal items of your choice.

The Essentials:

  • A Yoga mat: The bag should have a good quality, non-slip, durable mat for support and comfort. I always recommend using natural rubber mats known for their resilience and non-toxic properties.
  • A Water bottle: Keeping yourself hydrated before, during, and after practice is essential. You can use a good vacuum-insulated bottle that can keep your liquids cold or warm for longer.
  • A towel: A towel comes in handy when you sweat during hot yoga or need additional cover for your mat for added grip.
  • Cleaning wipes: This is to keep your mat nice, fresh, and germ-free.
  • Spare clothes: You should have a spare set of clothing in case you need extra layers to keep you warm or if you sweat a lot.

The Accessories:

  • Yoga blocks: You should keep yoga blocks, which help with alignment, stability, and achieving poses.
  • Strap:  Straps for assisting you in stretching practices.
  • Small blanket: To keep you warm when you end your routine with the Savasana.

Personal Items:

  • A Journal:  A journal comes in handy when you want to write down your affirmations or reflect on your practice.
  • Essential oils: Essential oils like lavender or peppermint are good for relaxing and focusing.
  • Protein snack: A granola bar can give you a quick boost of energy post-practice.
  • Headband: Keep your long locks in check and out of your face when practicing.
